Upper Menu

Besides the regular Save, Close, etc, there are some important functions on the upper menu area. If you want to reset all Plays, Hits or Downloads - you press those buttons. Warning: This cannot be undone. Another very important button is the Permissions/Filters button. You will want to do this early in your configuration. Press it, then select Filters. Scroll down and make sure user groups who will be entering message information have the No Filter option for HTML selected. If you don't, and you paste anything with HTML in it, Joomla will strip all that off.

 Administrative Tools

Check Assets

For proper search and other functions, Joomla sets an asset tag for each item in the database. Sometimes these get messed up. Every once in a while, it's a good idea to check them and reset if needed. This window performs that function. You can tell there is a mismatch by looking at the right column. If there are red numbers there, then an asset re-set is a good idea. Simply click "Fix" on the upper left and the assets will be matched to their item.

 Backup & Restore

To backup the database of your Proclaim installation, you have two options here. The first is the save a copy of the data in a zip format on a local drive. Click Export to do this. The second is to save the database in the media folder on your server. You can then access it to restore from this screen or you can use ftp to download it.

To Restore your database you can choose to upload an sql file (pay attention to the Max file upload message. If it is too small, you'll have to change your php.ini file), or you can restore one you saved to the backup folder from the above Backup, or you can upload an sql file to your server's temp folder and then paste the name in the field.

Restoring and backing up takes time. When it's done you may be taken to the component installation screen. From there you can check your restored database by clicking on one of the other views.

 Archive

You can set messages and mediafiles into an archive state. Enter the date you want to start the archive. This is the studydate field you set in the Message entry and the Createdate field in the media file entry. The system will archive all records prior to the date you specify.

 Alias

This function creates aliases if there are any missing. Usually an alias is created when you save a message or other element. This helps in Search Engine Friendly urls.

Database Fix

This function sends you to the Joomla database checker. Here you can see if there any problems with your database and have the opportunity to let Joomla fix them. This might be a missing table or a field that needs an adjustment but was missed on an update.

Administrative Parameters

Component Wide Options

Simple Mode (turn on or off). Simple mode simplifies the entry and display of your messages. You won't have as many options but we created a nice visual layout that provides title, date, and teacher. It adds an image at random. Here you can adjust some of the parameters, such as whether to show the title over the image or have no title overlay. Try it out to see if you like it! Simply click the button to turn it off and on. Be sure to click Save on the upper menu. Click the dropdown to chose what style of Simple Mode display you want to use. The Simple Mode indicator shows whether you are using Simple Mode in the Control Panel. You can also choose what users have access to enter messages, etc using Simple Mode.

Keywords and Meta Description - enter keywords and a short description to be applied to your Proclaim data site wide. This is used mainly for Search Engine use.

Compatability Mode only seems to impact the download link of media files.

Drop Tables on uninstall - we recommend leaving this off. If you have to unistall and reinstall the component, you want to make sure your database is intact. The choice is yours!

Number of backup files to keep is just what it sounds like. If you use the backup plugin funtion, the component will save only X files and delete older ones.

Message Limit in Media File has not been implemented and can be ignored.

Show Location has not been implemented.

Limit Popular Links - this setting limits the number of links to popular messages in your Control Panel

Filter Characters in Filename appears not to have been implemented

Items to include in score - in determining a popular message, you can choose to include or exclude the "hits"

Debug Info - For some functions such as upload and download, the component can show errors and other information.

 System Defaults

Auto Fill Message Record

These settings will autofill when you create a new message. The first five allow you to choose a teacher, series, location, message type, or book of the Bible to auto fill.

Icon or Image for Main Listing Page - in the Template Display Settings you can choose to show an icon or an image at the top of the listing page. Here is where you choose whether it's the default or your own image.

Images - set default images by pressing Select. You'll be able to upload an image if you like. Best to navigate to the com_proclaim folder but that's up to you.

Global Show Download - here you can set the component to show the Download Icon/Button/Image unless overridden by a specific media file record.

Default Download Icon - Here you choose what type of image is shown, whether a button, icon, image or combination. For instance, you can show the button (which is an outline) and the icon together.

Download Options - Here you can choose various options for button color, text, type of icon or custom, etc. If you choose a custom icon, you can use codes found here: https://fontawesome.com/search

Show/Hide Image for Landing Page - The Landing Page uses an icon to show or hide the additional items under categories like Year, Book, etc. You can choose a custom image for that icon.

 Auto Fill Media File Record

Show Download Icon - This determines whether the Show Download shows on a new media file record. You can always toggle this off in a media file record

Default Target - Choose what type of window the media file record opens to.

Server/Podcast Default - choose what Server you've set up that you want to show by default and what Podcast. You can always change this in an individual record.

Upload Path - set where you want media uploads to be stored if you are going to upload them to your local server.

System Player Tools

These options allow you to change the player and window type for many media files at the same time. The left window shows you current statistics for your media player and gives you the opportunity to change FROM one player TO another. We have deprecated All Videos Reloaded and JPlayer in favor of the HTML5 built-in audio player. If you have any of the former, they are automatically set to using HTML5. You can change the window type by selecting a FROM type and a TO type and hitting submit. You can also choose to change players based on the media type on the right side.

Conversion

We offer to convert the databases from two other church components, Sermon Speaker and PreachIt. We cannot guarantee that these will work so you MUST back up your database in advance.
